Snow melting plants, Minsk, Belarus
Development of pre-design and project documentation for facilities:
1) Construction of a snow-melting point in the area of Sofya Kovalevskaya Lane in Minsk
2) Construction of a snow-melting point in the area of Karvata street in Minsk
The functional purpose of the facilities is the utilization of snow by melting at the expense of thermal energy produced by wastewater.
The complex consists of:
1. Snow melting point:
– snow melting chamber;
– checkpoint with household facilities, with the necessary technical support;
– pavilion for control panels for separators and crushers;
– temporary snow storage area;
– on-site engineering networks (electricity, water supply, sewerage, outdoor lighting, etc.).
2. Sewage pump station:
– sewage pump station, designed to transport wastewater from a gravity sewer collector to a snow-melting point;
– on–site engineering networks (electricity, water supply, sewerage, outdoor lighting, etc.);
– off-site engineering networks and communications (electricity, water supply, sewerage);
– landscaping.
The operating mode of the snow melting point and the sewage pump station is seasonal (5 months a year, December-April) and round-the-clock.
Land area is 0.5 ha
The estimated capacity of the snow melting point is 480 m3 of snow/hour
The design capacity of the sewage pump station is 2800 m3/hour
While working on the project, we used Teamviewer for coordination and Skype for communication. The team of ENECA was very flexible, diligent and client-oriented. Though there were some difficulties with communication and work flow at the beginning, we managed to establish a well-coordinated process afterwards. Work with ENECA was a good alternative to the direct hiring locally. I would recommend working with ENECA as your reliable outsourcing partner.
10 project areas together and discussed for some other future opportunities. Their engineering team is located abroad, however, the remote work is well-organized.
The design process always requires flexibility and capability to think differently, and we were pleased to see Eneca’s readiness to support us and solve all the project issues together. When there was a need to do some quick revisions at a very late stage, Eneca's specialists performed them in a high qualitative and timely manner. The technical competence and deep Tekla knowledge of Eneca’s team as well as their high-performance efficiency and always keen in continuous improvement, provided us an important support in our engineering process.
